The pit and the Pendulum

I found out that this story is hard. First of all, after reading this story once, I didn’t really know what happened. I only know that the main character fell asleep. I thought he had a dream, but actually he was imagining things. Second of all, there’s a lot of vocabulary that I didn’t know. After Mr. Catlin told us the main ideas of this story, finally I know the summary of it. The character was in a dark room; he drank some water and felt dizzy. He started to imagine stuff. When he awake, he found out he was on the ground and cannot move. He saw a pendulum swing and almost kill him. This part was the most interesting and exciting part.
